Business events and networking in Brussels

Accessibility to the airports

Brussels Airport Zaventem is the national airport of Belgium. It is located approximately 12 kilometers from Brussels. There are several options to quickly get to the airport from the center of Brussels.

The airport has a train station and there are up to 6 trains per hour to and from Brussels. You can reach the city center within 15 minutes. It is also possible to take the train to Antwerp (32 minutes), Ghent (54 minutes) or Liège (60 minutes).

Access to offices by public transport

Public transport in Brussels is organized by the MIVB (Société des Transports intercommunaux Bruxellois). If you travel by public transport, it is advisable to have a MoBIB card, a payment system for various transport options.

The metro network in Brussels is excellent with 69 stations spread over seven lines. The train network is also dense and an efficient way to travel between cities. Brussels has 3 main stations that are on the same line: Brussels North, Brussels Central and Brussels South.

The Brussels-South train station, in the south, is the busiest because you can also take international high-speed trains such as the Eurostar and Thalys here to travel easily to Paris and Amsterdam.

Access to offices by car

Brussels has a large mobility infrastructure with the Brussels Ring (R0) as the main artery for commuting. However, it is not recommended to go to Brussels by car. Traffic can be heavy, especially during rush hours. Sometimes it is more economical to walk.

In addition, since January 2021, a maximum speed of 30 km/h has applied in the capital within the Ring for all road users (with the exception of some major traffic axes). If you don’t always need a car, car sharing in Brussels is a good option. Companies such as Cambio, Wibee, Poppy and Greenmobility offer car sharing options.

Parking in Brussels can be expensive, but there are also a number of free parking spaces. The municipality of Brussels is trying to make it less attractive to travel to the center by car.

However, you can park for free outside the old city center. Free parking is available in the following garages: Lennik-Erasme, Stalle, Hermann-Debroux, Delta and Roodebeek. You usually have to travel to the city by public transport if you choose these garages.
